Your Saudi SIM is part of your account security
SIM cards in the Kingdom are registered to an identity, which is normally a good thing and occasionally a problem for account recovery. If your one-time codes go to a number registered to a family member, an employer or an old Iqama, then the person who can prove ownership of that number is not you. That gap only shows up when you need it, during a password reset with a position open.
Two fixes. Make sure the number carrying your second factor is registered in your own name, and move the second factor to an authenticator app where the platform offers one, so a code does not depend on a network or a SIM at all. This also solves the roaming case, where SMS codes are unreliable outside the Kingdom.
